Welcome to Rodborough Glebe Allotments!

Digging Deeper into Community & Cultivation

Welcome to the Rodborough Glebe Allotments website! Nestled amidst the beautiful landscape of Rodborough, just outside Stroud, Rodborough Glebe Allotments offers much more than just a patch of ground. We are a thriving community of passionate gardeners, a haven for wildlife, and a vibrant hub for outdoor living.

For over a century, Rodborough Glebe Allotments have been gardened by residents of Rodborough since at least 1903. We have about 70 plots of varying sizes, located on a gentle slope from Butterow West, right next to the Community Hall. Our members enjoy a beautiful view of the Stroud Valley, making it an idyllic spot for cultivation and relaxation.

We’re proud of our long history, and in 2024, we began detailed research on the history of the site and the people who have worked our allotments. You can search Remembering Rodborough for more information about the history of allotments in Rodborough.

Whether you’re a seasoned green-thumb or just starting your journey into growing your own food, you’ll find a warm welcome and a supportive environment here. Our allotments provide a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Grow Your Own Delicious Produce: Experience the unbeatable taste of fresh, homegrown fruit, vegetables, and herbs.
  • Connect with Nature: Escape the everyday and immerse yourself in the calming rhythms of the seasons.
  • Embrace a Healthy Lifestyle: Enjoy fresh air, exercise, and the mental well-being that comes from working the earth.
  • Join a Friendly Community: Share knowledge, swap stories, and build friendships with fellow plot holders.

We’re also well-equipped with practical amenities. Our site is connected to mains water which we use to fill troughs for members’ use. We also encourage and practice water conservation, with many members diligently conserving and recycling water using all sorts of receptacles.

As an added layer of support and community, RGAA (Rodborough Glebe Allotment Association) are proud members of the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardens.
